Who attends our classes and training?

There is growing demand for the administration of early and potentially life-saving interventions to injured companion and working animals in the field. This care is not meant to replace that provided by a licensed veterinarian; rather, it is meant to provide stabilization prior to and during transport to a veterinarian. We believe that emergency response personnel have the skills necessary to provide this potentially life-saving care, and we are dedicated to assisting them in developing those skills.

Veterinary Professionals

Progressive professionals dedicated to providing high level of care to their clients/patients and a high level of training for their staff, with ongoing recertification over time.

First Responders

Firefighters, police, search and rescue, EMTs, paramedics and professionals who recognize the importance of the human-animal bond, especially in emergency situations, and how providing “pre-hospital care” to animals during emergency situations can preserve this bond and even improve outcomes in human rescue situations

Pet Owners

Pet owners and animal service professionals (groomers, day care assistants, etc.) who want a basic understanding of handling pet injuries and emergencies.

Our team members have years of clinical emergency and critical care veterinary experience. We are also members of the Colorado Veterinary Reserve Corps, are active in our local El Paso County Community Animal Response Team, and have completed FEMA training courses in ICS and NIMS.
