Animal Emergency Medical Training

We are dedicated to providing training in basic and advanced CPR to veterinary professionals in accordance with the industry standards set forth by the Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation RECOVER initiative. We provide invaluable training to pet owners and pet service professionals in vital sign assessment, basic first aid, and CPR.  We also provide comprehensive training in animal first aid, safety, and basic veterinary cardiopulmonary life support to First Responders, firefighters, disaster response personnel, and K9 Handlers.

We equip our trainees with the knowledge, skills, tools, and hands-on experience necessary to recognize potential animal emergencies and provide initial treatment and stabilization. Our goal is to enable individuals and teams to safely provide early emergent and potentially life-saving intervention to dogs and cats.

What is
RECOVER?

recover-logo-250.png

RECOVER is the REassessment Campaign On VEterinary Resuscitation. It is a collaborative effort between the Veterinary Emergency Critical Care Society and the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. In 2012, over 100 board certified specialists reviewed over 1000 journals regarding best practices for veterinary CPR. Out of this research, they created a consensus for evidence-based CPR guidelines. These guidelines and protocols have become the industry standard for veterinary CPR.  Veterinary individuals and practices that wish to become Rescuer certified in RECOVER Veterinary Basic and Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BLS and ALS) must first complete the RECOVER online training.

AEMT clients receive a 20% discount on the RECOVER online program.  To access this code, please register here.

Once this training is complete, they are eligible to register for one of AEMT’s in-person RECOVER Rescuer certification courses. Click here for a list of upcoming Rescuer certification sessions.

Animal EMT Testimonials

We used AEMT for in-person RECOVER CPR Training for our Veterinarians and ICU Technicians. They were very helpful and responsive leading up to the actual training session. Heather obviously knows the RECOVER training well and was able to help me navigate getting everyone through the online training first in preparation. We were very lucky to have an experienced ER veterinarian, a VTS level technician and a board certified criticalist proctor our training. The leaders were experts in the field, patient with our questions and fun! While all of our staff had CPR experience, we all left with better knowledge and confidence in providing gold standard care for our critically ill patients. I would highly recommend this service if you are looking to gain CPR certification.

I want to thank Kim and Dr. Becker for flying all the way out to Missouri, to get the majority of my staff BLS and ALS RECOVER Rescuer certified. They were amazing and my team truly enjoyed their interaction with them. They helped my team feel confident and empowered. For anyone who is looking to get their hospital RECOVER certified, I highly recommend Kim and Dr. Becker, they are truly down to earth individuals, who are passionate instructors, and very funny and entertaining. -

This training was excellent. I feel much more prepared for codes as a doctor, but the confidence I have in my team and their confidence in themselves is even more valuable. Thank you so much!
